Persimmony Making Things Easier for the Sonoma County Department of Health

Client Services

The Sonoma County Department of Health Services, a longtime valued Persimmony client, recently completed a state TCM Desk Audit. The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) reviewed 300 encounters, and found all 300 were in compliance, according to Ann Joly, Sonoma’s LGA Coordinator for MAA and TCM.

“Persimmony made things so easy, and they even made us a report that saved a lot of time in reviewing the encounters,” Joly said. “Everyone was very helpful. A special shout-out to the Persimmony folks for your support and willingness to work with the LGAs and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).”

The state agreed with Joly’s assessment, noting in the Sonoma audit report that “The use of Persimmony made sure all the significant details were taken into account and organized in a manner that made reviewing simple and efficient.”

In addition to supporting each audited Persimmony site to review the selected encounters, Persimmony’s Senior Implementation Specialist Jeanette Braker went to Sacramento to train the DHCS staff on using the Persimmony TCM Audit Module. This was the third pre-audit training Persimmony has presented to accommodate turnover in DHSC staff. In addition, ideas brought back from the training prompted Persimmony to create new functionality in the TCM Audit Module that streamlined the review process for the auditors.

This finding brings Persimmony’s total of successfully supported TCM audits to 3 of 3, and we are eagerly anticipating a perfect 4 in 4 record when Stanislaus County receives their written audit results.
The Sonoma and Stanislaus audits continue a “winning streak” for Persimmony clients in achieving 100% encounter compliance with state requirements.

“What is exciting is that the DHCS staff logged onto the Persimmony TCM Audit Module to perform the review at their own desks in Sacramento,” said Persimmony Founder and President Michael Kogus. “County staff no longer have to print reams of paper or search paper archives to prepare for state TCM audits. Having DHCS auditors log onto the Persimmony TCM Audit Module to review all the encounters and programmatic documentation makes the whole process more efficient.”
The entire Persimmony team congratulates our valued clients for successful audit findings.
