Persimmony is now partnering with several First 5 counties and Public Health Departments to support data collection and reporting for CalWORKS. We are involved with CalWORKS’ Home Visiting Initiative (HVI), a voluntary program for pregnant and parenting women, families, and infants born into poverty. Specifically, Persimmony supports documenting CalWORKS clients; tracking their demographic data, HVI referrals and outcomes; and aggregating data for reporting back to the state. Optionally, time study/time code tracking for billing can also be included.
Sacramento County’s First 5 team is using Assessments (combined with service and demographic data) for data collection, including intake, referral tracking, and home visit counts. In the proposed model, intake assessments will be used for base data. Referrals will be tracked through Services; and the Services feature will be enhanced to add fields that will support referral tracking.
Advantages of this approach include easer, at-a-glance tracking of referral status; simplified reporting for CalWORKS; and simplified maintenance to support changing requirements.
Our teams are working with county partners to develop standard procedures (as we do with our First 5 clients for the State Report) that will make collecting and aggregating data simple and streamlined. Currently, Persimmony teams are working with multiple counties to establish a baseline for data reporting and aggregation.
