According to Persimmony’s President and CTO Michael Kogus, “We are delighted to be affiliated with Nurse-Family Partnerships®.  Persimmonys software will eliminate redundant data entry, enhance data quality and allow software to easily combine NFP’s data collection and Targeted Case Management (TCM) records with local data collection requirements acquired by any program into one unified software system for its Clients.

Our partnership will streamline and bolster NFP’s operation enabling multiple-sites to generate numerous reports necessary for community partners across combination of local programs.”

“Nurse-Family Partnerships® (NFP) is the gold standard in evidence-based home visits, and as such, we embrace technology as strategic platform to serve families to the best of our ability.  Improving our technology is a key growth strategy for the organization.  Persimmony is our preferred data collection partner because of their reputation and experience in data collection systems, but also their commitment to creating better worlds with us.” said Frank Daidone, NFP’s President and CEO.

About First 5 Riverside and First 5 San Bernardino Local Dental Pilot Project

First 5 Riverside, the Riverside County Children & Families Commission, is a division of the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services. It is funded by tobacco taxes generated by Proposition 10 to ensure that all Californians, from prenatal through age 5, get the best possible start in life.

First 5 San Bernardino promotes, supports and enhance the lives of children prenatal through age five and is funded by taxes on cigarettes and tobacco-related products.  It offers education, health and childcare programs that promote early childhood development from prenatal through five years of age.

Supporting the regional dental pilot project across the two counties, the First 5 Riverside and First 5 San Bernardino consortia offer oral health services for low-income children. With Proposition 10 revenues consistently declining, First 5 San Bernardino and First 5 Riverside have established a strategic plan priority area, Systems and Networks, to provide leadership in the development of support systems servicing children and families that result in sustainable and collective impact. The Local Dental Pilot Project is an opportunity to leverage investments and assets in both counties to improve the oral health of children enrolled in Medi-Cal, as well as to create systems change to ensure that State and local investments are sustainable.

Persimmony Supports New State First 5 Data Reporting

Persimmony Software Update Supports New State First 5 Data Reporting

Persimmony’s complex data aggregation and upload is being done for all "First 5 Organizations" in the twenty counties using Persimmony software.

ALISO VIEJO, CA Jan.12, 2018 – Persimmony International, Inc. is pleased to announce its progress with the F5 Association and First 5 California on the implementation of the new FY 2018/2019 guidelines. According to Persimmony President and CTO, Michael Kogus, “We are making all the necessary modifications to Persimmony and are happy to report there will be minimal impact to your data collection. Transition to the new data reporting requirement will be simple and easy.”

The main change in the state reporting is the transfer of the service data from the AR2 to the AR1. Although this is a massive structural change in the State reporting requirement, Persimmony’s software is well equipped to handle this in the background by collating and assembling the data in the new required format. Clients need to only enter the data using Persimmony’s Performance Measures and Client modules as they have done in the past.

Other changes include the list of result and service areas, the addition of the Program Models and an updated agency type list. Mr. Kogus is pleased to say, “Once again, Persimmony will be managing these changes. All the client has to do is enter the information and allow Persimmony to do the rest. Result and Service Areas from previous fiscal years are still in the system, so the client just needs to select the previous FY to see them displayed.”

Other changes Persimmony would like clients to know about are the following:

  • The data collection changes have been completed and tested, and will roll out to your applications late January. The data collation changes are currently being made in the State Upload module.
  • Persimmony has been working closely with the First5 State Development Team who is creating the new state reporting site, and will be involved in the testing of it before its general release. The revised reports and State Upload module are expected to be updated in your applications in Q4.
  • Persimmony Project Managers will be reviewing the updates with Commission’s as they are rolled out and they are available, as always, to support all clients through this transition period.

First 5 California

First 5 California was created by voters under Proposition 10 to recognize that children's health and education are a top priority, especially in the early years of development.

Research shows that critical brain growth and other developmental milestones take place during the earliest years of a child's life. Making those years count is what First 5 California is all about. Our focus is to educate parents and caregivers about the important role they play in their children's first years.

Since 1998, we have invested millions of dollars to design comprehensive programs that address the needs of children ages 0 to 5 and their families. Currently, our programs are centered around the child, parent, and teacher to improve early childhood outcomes in the areas of health and nutrition, early literacy and language development, quality child care, and smoking cessation.

We work with our statewide partners in each county to ensure our programs are reaching the children and families that need it most to ensure they enter school healthy and ready to learn. Our promise is to continue to invest in services and programs that directly benefit children and families, and to advocate for a sustainable early education system for future generations.
